It's been a little warmer in the last month and June 1st is already behind us. That means it is hurricane season. So far, the forecast has been uneventful, but we did start getting storms on the map, by the end of June last year. This is a good time to make sure you stock up on food supplies and other items that you might need to have on standby for this season. This should include a possible evacuation plan, depending on how comfortable you feel in your housing on the island.

Hurricane season runs until November 30th so make plans now while you have time now that things are slow on the island.
Hurricane Season Begins
It's that time of the year again and San Pedro LobsterFest 2025 will begin at the start of lobster season on July 1, 2025. The lionfish events that precede the festival will be on June 29th and 30th. The infamous BLOCK PARTY that culminates the festival will be on July 12th at the Sacas Chipas field off of Back Street.

I am providing a link the Facebook page for more information here.

Changing of Front Street (near Central Park)
The old Jaguars Club has been closed for over 2 years and now there is ongoing construction in place that I have heard will be retail as well as possibly condominiums, at some point. Back in April, Brunolitos caught on fire and it, as well as the nearby establishments, were damaged and have now been demolished (see pics above).

The area across from the Central Park is definitely undergoing some changes. There may be some opportunities for new and existing businesses to gain some sought after real estate space on Front Street and its side street in the future, but I am unsure of how long construction will take and when those spaces will be available. The old Daddy Rock building has not had any further movement, since it was partially demolished years ago, but maybe this new construction in the nearby area will give the town counsel some incentive to move forward with determining what use it will grant for that property as it would be nice if all of those properties could be improved around the same time for residents to enjoy when they are completed.
